MLB Analyst Doesn't Pick Dodgers, Braves or Even Astros to Win This Year's World Series

Very interesting pick here..
In this story:

The MLB playoffs get started this week, and this is the best time of the year. Each of the 12 teams believes that it will be their year to hoist up the World Series trophy and have the long season culminate with a title.

But the reality is that only one team can call themselves champions when all is said and done, and it’s going to be a fight to win this season. There are a ton of really good teams, and each team can make a case for why they can win.

The favorites to win it all are teams like the Atlanta Braves, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros and even the surprising Baltimore Orioles. But one MLB insider picked against all of the top teams and went with a team to win their first-ever World Series this year. Bob Nightengale of USA Today went with the Milwaukee Brewers of the NL Central to win it all.

“Sure, Atlanta is the heavy favorite. The Houston Astros have the glossy postseason resume. The Los Angeles Dodgers are filled with stars. No matter.

Clip and save: I’m picking the Brewers to win their first World Series.

Really.”

Per Bob Nightengale of USA Today

While the pick of the Brewers isn’t the worst, it is interesting for sure. Milwaukee has consistently been good over the years but never has been able to get over the hump. But this version of the team believes that they can do it.

For the Brewers to win it all, they would need to first dispatch the Arizona Diamondbacks in the wild-card round. Many are picking Milwaukee in that series anyway, but then they would match up with the Dodgers in the NLDS.

LA went 5-1 over Milwaukee this season, but as the team learned last year in the playoffs, regular-season success means nothing come playoff time. Milwaukee would provide a challenge for the Dodgers due to their awesome pitching staff, and these teams have met in the playoffs a few times recently as well.

Nightengale’s pick of Milwaukee is a bit surprising, but the Brewers have been good the entire season. Only time will tell what happens, and lucky for us, the playoffs start soon. May the best team win it all!
