MLB News: Dodgers' Joe Davis Could Be On Broadcast With Yankee Hall of Famer This Season

During the weekend, Fox announced that Derek Jeter would be joining the 2023 Broadcast team.

It's no surprise that plenty of former professional athletes join broadcasting to stay around the sport they love. We've seen it be done for years and years.

I mean look at Tom Brady. He signed a 10-year deal with Fox Sports for $375 million to be a lead NFL analyst on-air in 2024 now that he's "officially" done playing.

This weekend during the Super Bowl's pregame show, Fox officially revealed that Derek Jeter would be joining the broadcast and studio crew.

Jeter's specific role and expectations are still unknown but there are a lot of guesses that he'll become a key part of the MLB postseason broadcasts to boost viewership.

And if Joe Davis can book another gig in postseason baseball, he could be working alongside Jeter.

For now, we do know that A-Rod is a part of the Fox broadcast team so they probably saw it as an opportunity to connect the former teammates who spent 10 years together in New York.

Jeter spent all 20 of his seasons in the major leagues with the Yankees and helped lead New York to five World Series championships while being named the MVP of the 2000 World Series.

The baseball legend was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2020 and in 2017, he joined the Marlins staff as he spent time in baseball operations and moved into an ownership role eventually. But last winter, he abruptly cut ties with the team before the 2022 season.

Now, a year later, he is expected to be one of the voices of the MLB which could either be really cool and go great or might be interesting and possibly not work out.

We'll see how long-term his partnership with Fox Sports is but it would be great to see him and Davis on air together eventually.
