The Dodgers beat the Cubs on Sunday on a final of 7-3 and took the series in Chicago 3 games to 1. They put together their first winning streak in more than 2 weeks mostly on the power of star slugger Max Muncy. New LA shortstop Mookie Betts also chipped in with 4 RBI.

Clayton Kershaw continued his great start to 2023 with another 6 solid innings at Wrigley Field. He earned his 4th win of the year, most in the National League and tied with Yankees' Gerrit Cole and Orioles' Kyle Gibson for the MLB lead.

Max Muncy on his place among the MLB leaders:

“I try not to pay too much attention to it, but it’s very rewarding. It wasn’t the best start, obviously. But it’s one of those things where sometimes, this game will tell you what needs to happen, and maybe it was telling me that I needed to make some changes. And that’s what we did, and so far it’s been working.”

Doug McKain of Dodgers Nation TV hosted another edition of the DN Postgame show where fans shared their reactions to the win and the winning streak.

“Super important,” Mookie said about taking the series. “You've got to start somewhere and fortunately, it was here. We just got to keep playing. … It’s a long season and you just got to get hot at some point.”

What Comes Next for LA?

The Dodgers have a day off on Monday before starting up a three game set against the NL best Pirates in Pittsburgh.

  • Noah Syndergaard makes his 5th start of the year against RHP Johan Oviedo on Tuesday.
  • Tony Gonsolin will make his season debut on Wednesday against Roansy Contreras.
  • And Julio Urias makes start number 6 of the year on Thursday against Mitch Kellar.

After, the boys come home to Los Angeles to welcome the St. Louis Cardinals and the 2022 pennant winning Philadelphia Phillies.
