Mookie Betts Doesn't Think Too Much of Dodgers Series Win Over San Diego

The Dodgers won 2 out of 3 games against the Padres over the weekend, denying them the opportunity to hang their World Series of May championship banner. While this series was significant for Padres fans, the Dodgers treated it as just another regular season slate of games.
The Padres may have stoked the Dodgers' competitive fire by displaying a distasteful meme of Clayton Kershaw crying, but ultimately, the Dodgers proved "Dodgers betta" by clinching the series.
Mookie Betts, who hit the game-tying homer in the 9th inning of Sunday's contest kept his response to reporters simple.
“It’s May. We have a lot more baseball to play. It’s a good series win but it doesn’t mean anything more than we just won a series.”
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, however, acknowledged that winning in a playoff-like atmosphere was good for the team.
“I don’t know about a statement. But I just think that it was good for us to come in here, in a fun environment, and win a series.”
Despite Monday's loss, the Dodgers remain in first place in the National League West, staying above the D-backs and Padres. The series in Milwaukee didn't get off on the right foot, but after a middling start to the season, LA has picked it up and is stringing together wins at a nice pace.
Let's just hope the Brewers don't derail the momentum.
