The Los Angeles Dodgers made the fleece of the decade when they acquired superstar Mookie Betts from the Boston Red Sox in Feb. 2020. The trade changed the trajectory of two organizations.

Although it's only resulted in one World Series for the Dodgers as of this writing, more are sure to come during Betts's tenure in LA.

Time and again, the Dodgers have shown they are serious about collecting multiple World Series titles, especially this offseason. During Saturday's DodgerFest, Betts expressed his gratitude toward the organization and said he loves being a Dodger.

The feeling is mutual.

Although many Dodger fans have called out Betts for his shortcomings in postseasons past, no team would say no to having a six-time Gold Glove award winner batting leadoff and playing all over the diamond, all at the relatively affordable salary of $25 million in 2024.

Betts is a superstar and one of baseball's main characters. He has taken the Dodgers to the promised land. The two-time World Series winner will enter his fifth season as a Dodger having slashed .282/.372/.539 with a .912 OPS since the trade with the Boston Red Sox. Last season, he was the runner-up for the National League MVP award to Ronald Acuña Jr.

Of the three players the Dodgers sent to Boston to acquire Betts, only catcher Connor Wong remains with the Red Sox four years later.

A seven-time All-Star, Betts has hit 113 home runs and 286 RBIs with the Dodgers, spanning 471 games and 2128 at-bats. If he hits another 27 home runs in 2024, Betts will have collected more in five seasons with the Dodgers – including one shortened by a global pandemic – than he did from 2014-19 in Boston.

Betts signed a 12-year deal with the Dodgers in 2020. He's already delivered one World Series title, and with the plethora of superstars on the team now, there could well be more to come.
