Recently Cut Dodgers Pitcher Pitcher Reacts to Decision on Social Media
On Friday, the Dodgers completed a blockbuster trade, bringing RHPs Lance Lynn and Joe Kelly to Los Angeles for OF Trayce Thompson and RHPs Nick Nastrini and Jordan Leasure. While neither Nastrini nor Leasure were on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers needed to open two spots, and did so by designating LHP Justin Bruihl and INF Eddys Leonard for assignment.
Bruihl, who's been with the Dodgers organization his entire career and pitched as recently as July 25, didn't seem too thrilled with the decision. He took to Twitter to react with a simple emoji.
Bruihl appears to have not seen this one coming. However, he's struggled this season to the tune of a 4.07 ERA, and just allowed three earned runs in his latest performance.
Bruihl is sure to have a market, though, as the 26-year-old has proven to be a strong pitcher throughout his career.
In 21 appearances in 2021, Bruihl had a strong 2.89 ERA. And in 24 appearances last season, he had a still solid 3.80 ERA.
The Dodgers will have a chance to trade Bruihl before he heads to waivers, where he'll for sure have a market. It's probably safe to assume he's made his last appearance for the Dodgers, at least for now.
