The Dodgers showcased multiple rookie players during the 2023 season, in part because of necessity. Many of those young players showed they belonged in the big leagues, but one stood out among the rest.

That would be starting pitcher Bobby Miller, who jumped onto the scene to become the next Dodgers pitching phenom. With experience under his belt, MLB.com's Sarah Wexler picked Miller to be the breakout star for the Dodgers in 2024.

"Miller was pressed into big league service sooner than expected last season due to a rash of injuries in the Dodgers’ starting rotation, and he responded by getting off to a historically good start. His overall numbers on the season ended up being pretty solid, too, as he recorded a 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP in 22 starts. With a bit of MLB experience under his belt, the former top 100 prospect with the 100-mph fastball could be in for a big 2024."

Per Sarah Wexler of MLB.com

Miller ended up being a needed commodity for the Dodgers last season. With all of their pitching injuries, he was thrust into a full-time starting rotation spot sooner than expected.

However, he shined during his opportunity and did well enough to earn a start in Game 2 of the National League Division Series against the Arizona Diamondbacks. While the end to Miller's season didn't work out the way anyone hoped, his future holds a lot of promise.

Miller, 24, showed massive poise and composure on the mound, which helped him navigate difficult spots. He never seemed rattled and even got better with each start.

It's rare for a young pitcher to show this type of skillset early on in his career, and Miller has the organization very excited. Sophomore slumps are a real thing in sports, but Miller has the tools to circumvent any major issues.

Miller was spectacular for the Dodgers last season and helped stabilize their rotation during a trying year. He should only get better heading into 2024, with a chance to grow his game even further.
