Shohei Ohtani Rumors: Dodgers Insider Breaks Down Top Competitors for Two-Way Star

Despite having a torn UCL, Shohei Ohtani will have plenty of suitors this offseason.

We are just months away from the offseason of Shohei Ohtani, and there are still tons of questions regarding the two-way superstar.

Doug McKain of www.dodgersnation.com broke down all the latest news on the Shohei Ohtani rumors and the possible teams who will sign him this upcoming offseason. It's a great, in-depth video and we highly recommend you watch it for all the latest on Ohtani talk.

It seems that Ohtani is going to be done with the Los Angeles Angels this offseason. During his major league tenure all with the Angels, Ohtani hasn’t been to the postseason.

It's no secret that Ohtani wants to win, and it was reported that he will choose a team with a winning tradition over geography. Since he is from Japan, Ohtani would prefer a West Coast team, but he will forego the proximity to Japan to ensure he wins.

With a torn UCL, Ohtani might need to take a lesser amount than he would have with a healthy pitching arm. According to McKain, though, Ohtani will still get a $500 million contract.

Even if Ohtani doesn’t pitch again, he will still be valuable to a team. Next to Aaron Judge, Ohtani is the most feared slugger. While he has missed over a week with a strained oblique, Ohtani has a .304 batting average with 44 home runs, 95 RBI, and 1.066 OPS. He is the favorite to win the American League MVP.

The rival San Francisco Giants want a superstar, but they might not have the capital to sign Ohtani.

The Dodgers have the winning tradition and capital to sign Ohtani. The Dodger organization knows how to treat superstars like Ohtani. Both Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman are thriving in a Dodger uniform, and Ohtani will, too, if he chooses to be a Dodger.
