Shohei Ohtani's Training Regime Has His New Dodgers Teammate in Awe
The addition of two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani has brought some extra life to the Dodgers organization. His desire to win is special, and he is determined to make the most of his time while with Los Angeles.
Dodgers utilityman Chris Taylor spoke with Doug McKain of dodgersnation.com and said that he was amazed at the training regime of Ohtani.
“I’ve been working out at the stadium off and on and I see Shohei there quite a bit. His work ethic is second to none, he’s super meticulous with everything he does. I don’t think I’ve seen someone take so long in between each and every rep, because he puts that much focus into it. Whether he’s doing dry swings in the cage or sprint work out on the field, he’s literally creating a game situation. He’ll have 20 dry swings in the cage and it’s gonna take him 20 minutes because he’s gonna take a minute in between every swing to visualize the situation. He’s gonna step out, take his breaths. It’s pretty special to watch, and I think that’s why he’s as good as he is.”

Taylor isn't the first person to speak about Ohtani in this manner, as the two-way superstar has made an impact with the Dodgers organization already. He is one of the hardest workers on the team, and by default, it makes others want to do more themselves.
Having Ohtani around should only help Los Angeles going forward, and he can teach others different training methods. Taylor also mentioned that Ohtani is all business and that he remains completely focused while working out.
“When he’s there, he’s focused. He’s all business.”

The season of Ohtani will begin shortly for the Dodgers, with pitchers and catchers already reporting. The team should be in for a very fun season, hopefully ending in another World Series title win.
