Should the Dodgers Try to Sign Padres LHP Blake Snell in Free Agency?

Despite his past teams, he'd be a great add.

Witnessing how great he's been in 2023 firsthand in their season finale, the Dodgers could chase a dominant pitcher when he hits the open market after this season.

After seeing him carve up their lineup over six innings of shutout ball, LA might be even more intrigued than ever to bring in Cy Young favorite Blake Snell to their rotation for 2024 and beyond.

While the majority of fans are in favor of bringing in the southpaw to the Dodgers in 2024 according to Dodgers Nation's poll on Twitter, many will remember his work against the team in the past few seasons especially.

First thoughts of Snell's dominant performance in the 2020 World Series come at the mention of his name as through five innings of work, the Dodgers could not hit him.

After a single by Austin Barnes blooped into center field, Rays manager Kevin Cash took Snell out of the game after just over 70 pitches to the joy of many Dodgers fans.

Getting two runs in the inning to take a lead they wouldn't relinquish, the decision to pull the southpaw gave LA their first title since 1988.

The idiocy from Tampa wouldn't stop there as they inexplicably traded their Cy Young winning ace pitcher to the Padres for a prospect return that hasn't panned out in the slightest.

Since he's been with the Padres, Snell has been one of the most stable arms in their rotation for his first two years, but he's been lights out in 2023.

Well on his way to winning another Cy Young award this year, Snell has led the National League in ERA and ranks high among the strikeout totals.

Racking up eight more against the Dodgers on Wednesday night to push him to over 215 on the year, perhaps this was a great audition for his eventual place in Dodger blue.
