The Dodgers Forget to Show Up to the Postseason; NLDS Sweep Reactions
With their backs against the wall, the Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-to-2 to end their season. Arizona advances to the National League Division Series.

The Dodgers went quietly in the first with Mookie Betts, Freddie Freeman, and J.D. Martinez going 1-2-3 against the rookie Brandon Pfaadt.
Lance Lynn looked great in the first, but that wouldn't last for long.
Dodger bats were impatient as they went down in order in the second.
With two outs in the second, Lynn allowed two singles but got out of the jam.
Kiké Hernàndez singled but was erased on a double play by David Peralta. The Dodgers went down in order in the third.
This is where it all came undone.
Lynn allowed four solo home runs in the third. The Arizona Diamondbacks are the first team in history to hit four home runs in an inning during a postseason game.
Caleb Ferguson came on in relief of Lynn and got out of the third.
The Dodgers couldn’t do anything in the fourth.
Ferguson continues in the fourth and retired the Diamondbacks in order.
With one out in the fifth, Will Smith doubled. However, Chris Taylor pinch-hitting for Jason Heyward struck out, and Hernàndez flied out.
To open the fifth, Ferguson walked Corbin Carrol. Roberts relieved Ferguson with Michael Grove. Grove quickly got the second out before issuing two walks then inducing an out to get of trouble.
In the sixth, the Dodgers went quietly.
Alex Vesia pitched a perfect sixth.
With two outs in the seventh, Max Muncy and Smith singled. Taylor singled in Muncy. Hernàndez singled in Smith. Austin Barnes, hitting for Peralta, grounded out to end the inning.
Brusdar Graterol allowed a hit but pitched a scoreless seventh.
To open the eighth, Kolten Wong walked but Mookie Betts and Freddie Freeman struck out. J.D. Martinez flied out to end the threat.
Muncy committed an error in the eighth but Evan Phillips pitched around the misplay for a scoreless inning.
With one out in the ninth, Will Smith showed some life with a one out single after a Max Muncy strikeout. Chris Taylor flied out to deep center field and Kiké Hernàndez flied out to end the Dodger season.
