Tyler Glasnow Reveals His Biggest Goals With the Dodgers
The Dodgers' trade for Tyler Glasnow from the Tampa Bay Rays saw an ace-level pitcher change teams, the biggest trade of the off-season outside of Juan Soto's move to the Bronx.
Glasnow gives Los Angeles the true front-line starter they lacked most of last season. The 30-year-old right-hander is very excited to join his hometown team for the foreseeable future.
In an interview with Doug McKain of DodgersNation.com, Glasnow broke down his biggest goals going forward. He first spoke about wanting to set career highs in both innings and games pitched.
“I definitely want to set like an inning and games pitched thing… So, for sure, I want to get past that. I want to get a full season healthy.”

The biggest concern for any team that considered trading for Glasnow was his injury history. The Dodgers don't seem overly worried about the issues.
Two years removed from UCL surgery, commonly known as an InternalBrace procedure, the Dodgers believe Glasnow's right elbow is healthy. Evidenced by the five-year contract extension Glasnow signed immediately upon being traded, the Dodgers believe they can look forward to several healthy seasons from the right-hander.
If Glasnow can stay healthy, the trade could prove to be a steal. He is one of the best pitchers in baseball when he's on the mound. The Dodgers and their fans will see close-up what Glasnow can do when given latitude to lead a starting rotation.
“Just stay healthy all season. And just get to that number… like 29 to 32, however many starts. Just get that full season of starts and just continue to stay obsessed in that routine and try to control everything I can control.”

Glasnow got a taste of the World Series in 2020 when his Rays faced off against the Dodgers. Now, his goal is to help his new team win a World Series — an incredible opportunity for the Santa Clarita native.
“The goal is obviously to win a World Series in the playoffs, but I think as long as I keep that start to start mentality and handle what I can handle that’s in front of me each week, it should work out.”

The Dodgers are very excited to have Glasnow be a part of the rotation. The front office has already gone all-out to turn one of the weaknesses on the roster into a strength. Glasnow is integral to that turnaround.
