The SF Giants closed their weekend against the Rockies with a 1-0 win to take the series. It will come as a shock to no one that Logan Webb was low on run support, as usual. But today, it didn't matter. Webb had his second straight spectacular outing, pitching nine innings with zero earned runs off seven hits and ten strikeouts. He didn't walk a single runner.

Joc Pederson's bobblehead day started off slow, with both the Rockies and Giants hitting hard straight into defense. The Rockies' starter Kyle Freeland was dealing as well. The Rockies stranded three baserunners through four innings, failing to bring anyone home. Similarly, the Giants threatened multiple times, but ultimately stranded four baserunners, leaving the score 0-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth.

Fans were left wanting for some action, and that came in the form of J.D. "Just Dingers" Davis, who hit a solo home run 421 feet to center field to put the score at 1-0 Giants.

In the bottom of the seventh, with the Giants threatening to score once again, the Rockies were dealt a tough blow when Freeland seemed to dislocate a shoulder attempting to field a Brett Wisely bunt. He was removed immediately from the game and replaced by Justin Lawrence. Lawrence got through the seventh without allowing his two inherited runners to score.

The rest of the game passed without event, except, of course, for Logan Webb's incredible outing. At only 80 pitches heading into the eighth inning, there was hope that he'd finally get a chance to pitch his first complete game. And when he came out for the ninth, fans were already on their feet. This was Webb's first complete game, and his first complete game shutout.

The Giants will head into the All-Star break at 49-41. Though he wasn't voted an All-Star, Webb certainly proved he has what it takes to be one today. The second half of the season will pick up on July 14th in Pittsburgh.
