BREAKING: Jose Ramirez Out Of Cleveland Indians Lineup With Wrist Injury
As the Indians prepare to go for their club record 15th straight victory, we have just learned they will have to do it without arguably their best player Jose Ramirez. Cleveland manager Terry Francona has now confirmed that Ramirez will miss tonight's game against the Chicago White Sox due to an injured wrist.
The injury is not expected to keep Ramirez out past the weekend as it is minor. However, it remains serious enough that he will need 2-3 days off. Apparently Ramirez injured the wrist earlier in the series on a check swing.
This comes during one of the hottest stretches of his career. During this epic 14 game win streak, Ramirez has been on fire. He has hit in 22 of his last 55 plate appearances with 7 home runs and 10 RBI.
Ramirez has also been their most consistent and healthy player this season. He currently has 25 home runs, 69 RBI and is batting 305 with an appearance in the All Star Game that also saw him reach base.
The Indians have proven they can still win this season even without some of their most dangerous hitters. This win streak has been without such bats as Michael Brantley, Jason Kipnis and Lonnie Chisenhall in the daily lineup due to their own injuries they are dealing with.
The Indians are currently just underway in Chicago as they take on the White Sox. They are going for the sweep and as mentioned prior, win 15 in a row.
