Eight More 40-Man Roster Players Confirmed To Attend 2024 Guards Fest
Two days ago, the Cleveland Guardians shared a list of eight players on their 40-man roster who will be attending the 2024 Guards Fest in January.
However, these will not be the only eight players in attendance.
On Thursday, the team confirmed eight more 40-man roster players who will be at the event on Saturday, January 20.
Here is a breakdown of the latest list of confirmed attendees.
Steven Kwan
The 2023 AL Gold Glove Award winner has now received the honor in each of his first two MLB seasons. He has also been Cleveland’s mainstay leadoff hitter in this span, hitting .282 with 339 hits, 61 doubles, 14 triples, 106 RBI, and 40 stolen bases.
Will Brennan
After making his MLB debut with the Guardians last year, the 25-year-old had a strong first full Major League season this year. He hit .266 with 115 hits, 24 doubles, five home runs, 41 RBI, and 13 stolen bases, while compiling a .991 fielding percentage when playing right field.
Tyler Freeman
The 24-year-old has been a utility player for Cleveland over the past two seasons. He has hit .243 with 56 hits, 10 doubles, four home runs, 21 RBI, and six stolen bases, while playing five different defensive positions.
Brayan Rocchio
The Guardians’ top-ranked and MLB’s 47th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline made his Major League debut with Cleveland this season. The 22-year-old hit .247 with 20 hits, six doubles, and eight RBI in 23 MLB games.
Xzavion Curry
The 25-year-old became a critical part of the Guardians’ bullpen in his first full Major League season this year. In 41 appearances (nine starts), he went 3-4 with a 4.07 ERA, 67 strikeouts, and a 1.35 WHIP.
José Tena
Cleveland’s 15th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline made his Major League debut late this season. In 18 games with the Guardians, the 22-year-old hit .226 with seven hits, two doubles, and three RBI.
Juan Brito
While Cleveland’s sixth-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline has yet to make his Major League debut, the 22-year-old had a stellar Minor League season this year.
Baseball America’s 2023 Guardians Minor League Player of the Year hit a combined .271 with 125 hits, 31 doubles, 14 home runs, 75 RBI, and a .811 OPS across High-A Lake County, Double-A Akron, and Triple-A Columbus.
Jhonkensy Noel
Cleveland’s 29th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline is one of the premier power hitters in the Guardians’ player development system.Â
While he has yet to make his Major League debut, the 22-year-old hit .220 with 114 hits, 27 home runs, and 85 RBI in his first full Triple-A season this year.
