Despite not making the postseason in 2023, the Cleveland Guardians still had a number of star players on their team.

Yesterday, MLB announced its nominees for the 2023 All-MLB Team.

Four Guardians have been nominated: first baseman Josh Naylor, third baseman José Ramírez, left fielder Steven Kwan, and relief pitcher Emmanuel Clase.

Here is how each of them fared this season.

Josh Naylor

This is Naylor’s first career All-MLB Team nomination.

He hit .308 with 139 hits, 97 RBI, 31 doubles, and an .843 OPS this year, all of which were career-highs.

Naylor was one of just six MLB players to hit at least .305 and record at least 95 RBI this year.

José Ramírez

This is Ramírez’s fourth consecutive All-MLB Team nomination, as he seeks his second career selection.

The 31-year-old hit .282 with 172 hits, 24 home runs, 80 RBI, 36 doubles, and 28 stolen bases this year.

Ramírez was named an AL All-Star for his third consecutive season (fifth overall), while also being named both a Gold Glove and Silver Slugger Award finalist.

Steven Kwan

This is Kwan’s second consecutive All-MLB Team nomination, as he seeks his first career selection.

Kwan hit .268 with 171 hits, 54 RBI, 36 doubles, and 21 stolen bases this year.

He also won his second consecutive Gold Glove Award, becoming just the third player in MLB history to win a Gold Glove in each of his first two seasons (minimum one game played per season).

Emmanuel Clase

This is Clase’s third consecutive All-MLB Team nomination, as he seeks his second consecutive First Team selection.

Cleveland’s closer led MLB in saves (44) for the second consecutive season, becoming the first pitcher in franchise history to record multiple 40-save seasons.

This year’s 2023 All-MLB Team will be announced on December 16th on MLB Network.
