CLEVELAND - The Indians wrapped up a short three-game weekend homestand with the Royals Sunday, and celebrated Mother's Day with an 11-2 whipping behind three homers as well as the solid pitching of ace Corey Kluber.

The win puts the Tribe back over .500 at 20-19 on the season, with the Royals playing much like a team looking to the future at 13-27.

It's on the road now for the next 11 days for the Indians, as they will head to Detroit for three, an off day on Thursday, and then a three-game set against the World Series Champion Astros before two with the White Sox before coming home.

Here's three takeaways from the victory Sunday at Progressive Field.

1. Big Day for Gomer

For the second time in his career, Tribe catcher Yan Gomes had a four-hit game, going 4-for-5 with a three-run homer, double, and a pair of singles.

His average now stands at .266 on the year, and his three-run blast to center in the fourth inning put the Indians up 9-0 at the time.

Gomes' other four-hit game of his career came also against the Royals, and he seems to be seeing the ball and hitting with more confidence than we've seen in a long time at the plate.

2. Back to the 'W' Column for Kluber

The beat goes on for Indians ace Corey Kluber, who went seven innings, not allowing an earned run on eight hits with no walks and four K's in the victory.

He was so good early throwing strikes, that once the Indians put up a five spot in the second he was able to put it on cruise control and get the win to improve to 6-2.

On the day Kluber threw 97 pitches, 69 of which were strikes, and his ERA is down to 2.34 on the season. He's allowed three or fewer runs in 21 starts in the regular season dating back to August 1st of last year.

He's set for a showdown with Dallas Keuchel and the Astros Friday in Houston.

1. Top of the Lineup

Since the move was made on Friday to move Jason Kipnis down and Michael Brantley up, the top of the Tribe lineup has been on fire, leading the way for the rest of the offense to benefit.

Over the 3 games against the Royals the top 3 in the lineup (Francisco Lindor, Brantley and Jose Ramirez) went 18-for-37 (.486) with 5 homers, 17 runs batted in, and 15 runs scored.

Yes the Tribe lost one of those three games, but it's hard to find a better hitting threesome at any top of the lineup in baseball right now, and with the way these three are hitting it's going to be fun to watch this offense continue to progress over the next few weeks.
