Monday marks the final week of the regular season. It's hard to believe that the 2023 campaign is already coming to an end after beginning all the way back in February with Spring Training.

The Cleveland Guardians have two more series before their year officially comes to an end which includes a two-game set with the Cincinnati Reds and three games with the Detroit Tigers. With it being the last week before the postseason begins, MLB.com released the final edition of their power ranking for this year.

Guardians fans can probably guess that their team wasn't in the top 10 with them already being eliminated from playoff contention. But how far down the order are they?

Manny Randhawa, who put together this final list, had Cleveland ranked as baseball's 21st best team which is one spot lower from where they were a week ago. This feels like a fair evaluation of where the Guardians stand at this point in the season. Cleveland still has great pitching and is far from the worst team in MLB. However, the offense is still holding this team back as it's done all season.

MLB.com also doesn't consider the Guardians to be at the bottom of the AL Central either. He's where the rest of the division wrapped up:

  • Minnesota Twins - 10
  • Guardians - 21
  • Detroit Tigers - 22
  • Chicago White Sox - 27
  • Kansas City Royals - 29

It is a little embarrassing for the Central to have this many teams this low. However, it does show that if the Guardians make the correct moves this offseason they could have a fairly easy path back to the playoffs in 2024.
