CLEVELAND, Ohio- On Friday night, the Cleveland Indians faced the Chicago White Sox in what would be their final series of the 2017 regular season.

Heading into Friday night's game the Indians were 100-59 on the 2017 campaign and their magic number for American League Home-Field Advantage was at 2.

The Chicago White Sox came in at 66-93 on the season and are just looking to play spoiler in this series to prevent the Indians from clinching American Leauge Home-Field Advantage.

Following the Indians 10-1 victory, the team improved to 101-59 on the season. For the White Sox though, they fell to 66-94 on the season.

Cleveland also knocked their magic number down to 1 for American League Home-Field Advantage with the Astros win. If the Indians win tomorrow, they will have the number 1 seed in the American League.

Here's our three takeaways from the Indians 10-1 victory.

1.) Trevor Bauer Tunes Up Before Postseason

Trevor Bauer came into Friday night's game with 189 strikeouts and only needed 11 more to reach 200 strikeouts on the season. If Bauer would have reached two strikeouts he would have joined teammates Corey Kluber and Carlos Carrasco with 200 or more strikeouts this season.

Bauer only put in 6 innings of work , gave up 4 hits, allowed 1 earned run, walked none, and struck out 7 White Sox batters. Bauer only threw 80 pitches in this start.

Bauer finished with 196 strikeouts which is a career high for him and also earned another career high with his 17th victory of the season.

This was Bauer's 22nd start of the season with at least 6 strikeouts, which makes him tied 5th in the American League.

Bauer went 10-2 with a 3.01 ERA (28ER/83.2IP) over 14 starts in the second-half and 15 appearances.

Although Bauer, Carrasco , and Kluber did not reach 200 strikeouts or more as a trio, they did make MLB history.

Bauer, Carrasco, and Kluber will each finish their regular-season with at least 17 wins and 190 strikeouts, this makes them the first trio of teammates in MLB history to reach this milestone.

2.) Jose Ramirez Putting Up a Good Argument for Most Valuable Player

Jose Ramirez went 3-3 tonight with two doubles, a single, and a walk.

With Ramirez hitting two doubles he increased his AL leading doubles mark to 55. Ramirez also hit his 90th extra-base hit during Friday's game.

Ramirez is the third player in Indians history to hit 55 doubles in a season. Ahead of Ramirez for most doubles in Indians history are Tris Speaker who hit 59 doubles in 1923 and George Burns with 64 doubles in 1926.

With Jose getting his 90th extra base hit, he now has the 4th most in franchise history. Ramirez only trails Grady Sizemore who hit 92 extra-base hits in 2006, Hal Trosky who hit 96 in 1936, and Albert Belle with 103 extra-base hits in 1995.

Jose Ramirez bumped his average up from .314 to .317 after Friday's game.

Ramirez still has two games left in the year but has 29 homers, 83 RBIs, 55 doubles, 90 extra-base hits, and has a batting average of .317 .

3.) 2017 Cleveland Indians Will Go Down in History

With Friday's victory over the White Sox, the Indians won their 101st game of the season. This is the second most wins in Indians history behind the 1954 Cleveland Indians that went 111-43.

The Indians now officially have the most wins by a team in the AL Central division since the start of the AL Central in 1994.

The Indians run differential increased following their 10-1 victory to an MLB best +253, +253 is the second highest mark in Indians history since +272 in 1948.

Indians pitching struck out 13 batters which extended their MLB record for most double-digit strikeout games to 91 this year.

In the month of September, Cleveland is 25-3. This is the most wins in a calendar month since going 26-6 in August of 1954.

The Indians scored 10 runs tonight for the 23rd time this season reaching double digits. With 23 games of 10+ runs scored, this ties them with the Houston Astros for most in the Major Leagues. This is the most games the Indians scored 10+ runs since also accomplishing this 23 times in the 2000 season.

As mentioned earlier, the Indians lowered their magic number to 1 and with a win tomorrow or a Houston loss will guarantee that the Indians have the No.1 seed in the American League.

Tomorrow the Cleveland Indians will be sending Corey Kluber to the hill and will be opposed by Carson Fulmer. The game on Saturday will be sold out. First pitch is expected to be at 7:10 PM EST and can be seen on SportsTime Ohio.
