CLEVELAND - A year in the making, the Cleveland Indians Monday morning at the Progressive Field Team Shop showed off their newest uniforms starting for the upcoming season.

The biggest news was that the team introduced a new home alternate red jersey. Next season’s uniforms also will display the official 2019 All-Star Game logo on the side of every hat and sleeve of each jersey.

Needless to say, there's no Chief Wahoo in sight on any of the new look uniforms. There's also no immediate plan for a new logo to replace the Chief.

"That's still in the process," Indians Senior Vice President of Public Affairs Bob DiBiasio said.

When asked about fans that are not happy with the end of Wahoo on Indians uniforms, DiBiaso stated "we expect that, some will miss it, some will applaud it."

The Indians will feature “Cleveland” in block lettering on their official road grey jersey and the alternate road blue jersey.

Both road uniforms will feature an all-navy cap. When the Tribe is home at Progressive Field, they will feature either the white jersey with red script Indians across the front or the new alternate home red jersey with navy script Indians.

The home hat will be blue with a red bill.

The red jersey is a throwback to the unis of the 1970's, though don't worry, they will not wear the red pants when they take the field in the red jerseys.

It's just the second time in franchise history that the team will wear red.

The new look uniforms are available at the official Indians team shop, blank jerseys run $130, while jerseys featuring Francisco Lindor and Jose Ramirez's names and numbers on the back run $150.
