Josh Donaldson could reportedly be activated on Tuesday
CLEVELAND-- Fans may not have to wait much longer to see Josh Donaldson in an Indians uniform.
According to Paul Hoynes of Cleveland.com, Donaldson could be activated as early as Tuesday, the first day he is eligible to come off the 10-day disabled list, when the Indians play the Tampa Bay Rays:
Donaldson was officially placed on the DL on Sept. 3, retroactive to Sept. 1. Donaldson was acquired via trade on Aug. 31 from Toronto.
The 2015 American League MVP has struggled with injury for most of the 2018 season. He played in just 36 games for the Blue Jays this year, batting .234 (32-for-137) with 11 doubles, five home runs and 16 RBI. He was on the disabled list from May 29 to Aug. 30 with a strained left calf.
Donaldson has played for both Class Double-A Akron and Class Triple-A Columbus already, and per Hoynes' report will play third base for the RubberDucks again on Saturday.
