The 2023 season came to a bittersweet close for the Cleveland Guardians. Terry Francona, the winningest manager in franchise history, stepped down and the organization now entered a new era.

Cleveland opted to hire rookie manager Stephen Vogt to take over for Tito. That decision has been praised throughout baseball even before seeing him in action.

Having a new manager will be a big adjustment for all of the players on the roster. Even with this change, multiple members of the Guardians expressed how excited they were to be playing under Vogt.

Something that Triston McKenzie is excited about is the positive energy that he believes Vogt will bring to the team.

"It’s exciting. I’m definitely sad to see Tito go, but I’m excited to have [Vogt] with us," said Sticks. "I think he’s gonna bring a ton of energy into the clubhouse and a ton of positive energy. I definitely think he’s going to impact a lot of the young guys very good."

Vogt has been viewed as an energic and outgoing individual going back to his playing career. This honest personality is what he believes got him the job so there's no reason for that to change when Vogt is managing the team.

Steven Kwan voiced a similar level of excitement for the new skipper in town.

"Super exciting. Obviously, he was an All-Star a couple of times with the A's. I grew up in the Bay area and even though I grew up a Giants fan, Stephen Vogt was always in the news. Definitely knew the name, so I was a fan before all of it."

Kwan also revealed that Vogt has already personally reached out to him.

"He contacts me during the Winter Meetings. I know he was getting pulled in every direction, but the fact that he made some time to reach out to us I thought was super special."
