Even when Myles Straw struggled at the plate last season, there was always one thing that Cleveland Guardians fans could count on him for. That's his incredible defense in center field.

This defense has led him to his first Gold Glove award in 2022 and the reputation of being one of the best defensive center fielders in all of MLB.

He showed off this elite outfield protection in the Guaridnas-Athletics series finale when he made an incredible catch at the wall to save Cleveland from potentially giving up the lead.

It's hard to tell if the ball would've actually left the yard if Straw did not catch it, but it definitely would've been trouble.

Here's the web gem:

Catches don't come as nice as this one does, especially considering the inning and score of the game. If Straw didn't make this catch then the Guardians would've had a mountain to climb at the top of the eighth inning.

Straw has a high baseball IQ and listening to him talk about his catches is just as exciting as watching them.

He had this to say about this particular play, "I did not (knew he had it the whole time). (Brown) got it better than I thought. I mean 104 at 27 is a pretty good poke."

Cleveland can always feel good about their defense when Straw is in the field and this is just one more example of why.
