On Tuesday night, less than 24 hours away from the MLB Trade Deadline, the Cleveland Indians executed a trade between the Cincinnati Reds and San Diego Padres.

The news first broke by Jeff Passan an MLB Insider of ESPN stated that the Indians have traded Trevor Bauer to the Reds and this move was part of a three-team trade along with the Padres.

With the trade the Indians became the first team in history to acquire multiple players that have 20+ homers in a midseason trade.

Ken Rosenthal of the Athletic broke down the trade and what each team gave up along with what each team acquired.

The Indians weren't going to give up Trevor Bauer for just anybody and quite frankly controlled their own destiny when it came to the decision of the former Cleveland Indians starter. Following the game between the Houston Astros and Indians, Bauer had a crowd of his former teammates saying their goodbyes. Bauer declined to speak to the media following the trade.

With the Indians gaining two hitters in this trade the lineup has upgraded with both Yasiel Puig and Franmil Reyes.

Puig will be a free agent in 2020 but in 2019 with the Reds had an average of .255, 15 doubles, 1 triple, 22 home runs, and 60 RBIs throughout 99 games.

Reyes will be under control until 2022 and in 2019 with the Padres had an average of .253, 8 doubles, no triples, 27 homers, and 46 RBIs in 98 games.

The MLB Trade Deadline is at 4:00 pm on Wednesday July 31st, the Indians can make another move before then so stay tuned to NEO Sports Insiders.
