The Guardians 2023 Schedule Will Look Different Than Past Years
The wait is over and the Cleveland Guardians schedule is officially out!
The 2023 schedule will have some similarities and some differences then fans have been used to over the last few years and this has to do with who the Guardians will actually be playing.
What Will The Stay The Same?
MLB is still broken up into the American League and National League with three divisions in each. With that being said, the Guardians are in the AL Central and will play the Tigers, Royals, Twins, and White Sox.
However, they won't play them as much this season and that's where the changes start.
What Will Be Different?
Cleveland will play fewer games against teams in their division which will be cut down to 52 games. This breaks down to 13 games against each opponent or a total of four series. This used to be 19 games or six series that have been the norm in past years.
With there being fewer games in the division, teams will now have an opportunity to play more interleague series. This will include every team playing each other. There will be a total of 64 interleague games.
It will be interesting to see how these changes will affect the season with the competition becoming a little more balanced.
