On Thursday night, Trevor Bauer could have made his final start for the Cleveland Indians and it was a victorious one.

According to Jon Morosi of the MLB Network, the San Diego Padres are the most serious suitor for the Indians starting pitcher.

The problem with that is that Cleveland will be looking for MLB ready talent in a trade for their starting pitcher.

Some players can end up coming to Cleveland in the exchange but what I see that will be likely is the Indians trading Bauer away to San Diego in return for right fielder, Franmil Reyes.

Reyes will be a free agent in 2025 and will be arbitration eligible in 2022.

Reyes in 90 games this year has a batting average of .253, 7 doubles, 26 homers, 44 RBIs, walked 25 times, and struck out 81 times.

In his career, Reyes has played in a total of 162 games, a batting average of .265, 16 doubles, 42 home runs, 75 RBIs, walked 49 times, and 161 strikeouts.

The Padres have a good farm system and can throw in both one of their pitchers (possibly one of their 6 lefties out of the 15 pitchers in the top 30 prospects) and a bat as well.

Trevor Bauer in 2019 has a record of 8-7, 3.65 ERA, 21 starts (1 complete game/1 shut out), 138.0 innings pitched, 160 strikeouts, and 54 walks.

In Bauer’s career he has made 171 starts, has 3 complete games (1 shut out), a record of 67-54, 3.90 ERA, 1042.0 innings pitched, 409 walks, and struck out 1086 batters.

The Indians pitcher will be under control until 2020 which can benefit the Padres for at least one full season.

Bauer for Reyes, a pitcher, and hitter in the top 30 can possibly be pulled off with the Indians just parting ways with Bauer.
