The Cleveland Guardians suffered their 11th 2024 Cactus League loss with a 3-0 defeat to the Chicago Cubs yesterday afternoon.

With 90 players representing the Guardians during spring training (40-man roster, 22 non-roster invitees, and 28 depth camp players), each game’s roster will vary.

Based on Cleveland’s roster for yesterday’s game and their performances in the contest, here are four Players of the Game.

José Ramírez, 3B

The veteran third baseman drove in the Guardians’ final two runs with his only hit of the day.

After a leadoff single from Steven Kwan to begin the bottom of the fifth inning, Ramírez hit a two-run home run to reduce Cleveland’s deficit to 7-3. This was his third home run of the spring.

The 31-year-old has now recorded six RBI in 10 games so far this spring.

Bo Naylor, DH

The 24-year-old recorded his first multi-hit game of the spring, ultimately finishing 2-for-4 at the plate.

He first hit a two-out RBI single in the bottom of the fourth inning to make it a 5-1 game. Then, four innings later, Naylor hit another two-out single.

Anthony Banda, LHP

The 30-year-old non-roster invitee pitched a perfect 1.2 innings of relief for the Guardians.

After entering the game to begin the top of the sixth inning, his only strikeout of the day ended the half-inning.

Jack Leftwich, RHP

The 25-year-old pitched a near-perfect top of the ninth inning in relief for Cleveland.

After allowing a leadoff single to begin the frame, Leftwich retired the final three batters he faced, which included throwing one strikeout.
