Predicting Guardians 2024 Starting Rotation, Post-Cal Quantrill DFA

What will the Cleveland Guardians' starting rotation look like after they DFA'd Cal Quantrill?
In this story:

Cal Quantrill was a member of the Cleveland Guardians' starting rotation for the last three seasons, and likely would have been next season.

However, the organization designated Quantrill for assignment on Tuesday evening

This is what Cleveland's starting rotation could look like in the post-Quantrill era.

Shane Bieber

There's unsurprisingly already been conversations about whether Shane Bieber will be traded this offseason.

General Manager Mike Chernoff said that the team expects Bieber to be in its rotation to begin the 2024 season.

That's a good enough reason to have him on this list.

Triston McKenzie

The hope for Triston McKenzie is that he can stay healthy. If he avoids injury, then there's no reason why he shouldn't be in Cleveland's starting rotation.

However, elbow injuries among pitchers are definitely concerning.

Let's hope that McKenzie has a strong offseason and is ready to go for Opening Day.

Tanner Bibee

Tanner Bibee finished in second place in the 2023 American League Rookie of the Year race. He also finished the season with the lowest ERA (2.98) among AL rookie pitchers.

Bibee is one of MLB's premier young pitchers, so he will undoubtedly be in the Guardians' starting rotation.

Gavin Williams

Gavin Williams had a slower start to his Big League career compared to some of Cleveland's other top pitching prospects.

However, the 24-year-old finished the season with a 2.98 ERA in his final 12 starts.

There's certainly more development ahead for Williams, but that will occur at the Major League level.

Logan Allen

Logan Allen was the first prospect of the previously mentioned trio to be promoted, as he debuted back on April 23rd.

He had a bumpy rookie season, struggling at times to get deep into games.

But the talent is definitely there for him to become a full-time starter.
