Breaking Down Guardians’ 2023 Organizational All-Star Infielders
Yesterday, MLB.com announced MiLB.com’s 2023 Organizational All-Stars for the Cleveland Guardians. These are, “the players, -- regardless of age or prospect status -- who had the best seasons” in the Cleveland farm system.
Here is a breakdown of the Guardians’ 2023 Organizational All-Star infielders.
Bo Naylor (C)
Before becoming Cleveland’s mainstay catcher on June 17th, he played 60 games for Triple-A Columbus this season.
The 23-year-old hit .253 with 13 home runs, 48 RBI, and 12 doubles.
Aaron Bracho (1B)
The utility infielder had a bounce-back campaign with Double-A Akron this year.
After hitting a combined .179 in his previous two seasons with High-A Lake County, the 22-year-old hit .245 with 18 home runs, 59 RBI, and 14 doubles in his first Double-A season.
Initially a switch-hitter, Bracho has now transitioned solely to left-handed.
Juan Brito (2B)
In the 2022 offseason, Cleveland traded Nolan Jones to the Colorado Rockies in exchange for Brito.
This turned into the Guardians’ 2023 Baseball America Minor League Player of the Year, as he hit .271 with 14 home runs, 75 RBI, and 31 doubles across High-A Lake County, Double-A Akron, and Triple-A Columbus.
Cleveland’s sixth-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline is currently on the Guardians’ 40-man roster.
Angel Martínez (3B)
Cleveland’s 10th-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline had a strong season across Double-A Akron and Triple-A Columbus.
The 21-year-old hit .251 with 14 home runs, 79 RBI, 23 doubles, and 11 stolen bases. He is also currently on the Guardians’ 40-man roster.
Brayan Rocchio (SS)
Cleveland’s top-ranked prospect per MLB Pipeline bounced between Triple-A Columbus and the Guardians this year.
The 22-year-old hit .280 with seven home runs, 65 RBI, 33 doubles, and 25 stolen bases in 110 Triple-A games.
