Guardians Land Three Prospects On The Athletic’s Top 100 List

Cleveland prospects Brayan Rocchio, Kyle Manzardo, and Chase DeLauter are all on Keith Law's Top 100 MLB prospects list.

Ahead of the 2024 season, multiple preseason MLB prospect rankings have been released.

Last month, the Cleveland Guardians landed two prospects on Baseball America’s Top 100 list and four prospects on MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 list.

On Monday, The Athletic's Keith Law revealed his Top 100 prospects before the start of the 2024 season.

Here are the three Cleveland prospects who made Law's list.

13. Brayan Rocchio, SS

Brayan Rocchio is one of two Cleveland prospects ranked top-100 by both Baseball America (80th) and MLB Pipeline (91st).

The 23-year-old made his MLB debut with the Guardians last year, hitting .247 with 20 hits, six doubles, and eight RBI in 23 games. He also hit .280 with 131 hits, 33 doubles, six triples, seven home runs, 65 RBI, and 25 stolen bases in 116 games with Triple-A Columbus.

66. Kyle Manzardo, 1B

Kyle Manzardo is baseball’s 59th-ranked prospect by MLB Pipeline.

The 23-year-old hit .242 with 83 hits, 27 doubles, 17 home runs, 54 RBI, and an .818 OPS in 94 Triple-A games last year. He also excelled in the 2023 Arizona Fall League, being named a Fall Star and participating in the league’s home run derby.

81. Chase DeLauter, OF

Chase DeLauter is the second Cleveland prospect ranked top-100 by both Baseball America (29th) and MLB Pipeline (31st).

Last year, the 22-year-old had a remarkable first professional season after being activated from the 60-day injured list in late June. He hit .366 with 60 hits, 18 doubles, four home runs, 31 RBI, and a .952 OPS in 42 games with High-A Lake County.

DeLauter then hit .364 with four RBI and a .464 on-base percentage with Double-A Akron in his final six games of the season before being named a 2023 Arizona Fall League Fall Star.
