The Miami Marlins need starting pitchers for Opening Day.

Given the likelihood that the team is missing the trio of expected starters Edward Cabrera (shoulder), Braxton Garrett (shoulder), and Eury Pérez (elbow/fingernail), the Marlins are looking for someone to slot into the 5th rotation spot for at least a few weeks, if not longer.

Enter...Yonny Chirinos?

The non-roster invitee gets one of two starts in today's split-squad action, on the mound as the Marlins welcome the St. Louis Cardinals to Jupiter.

Here's how the Marlins will line up in Roger Dean Chevrolet Stadium:

2B Luis Arraez
DH Josh Bell
1B Jake Burger
CF Jazz Chisholm Jr.
LF Jesus Sánchez
RF Nick Gordon
SS Jon Berti
C Christian Bethancourt
3B Yiddi Cappe

Chirinos is making his fourth appearance of spring, currently 0-0 with a 1.29 ERA and two saves. Chirinos, who was with the Rays and Braves last season, has pitched seven innings with two strikeouts and one walk.

Here's how the Cardinals will line up on the road:

2B Brandon Donovan
1B Paul Goldschmidt
DH Nolan Gorman
3B Nolan Arenado

RF Matt Koperniak

Starting for the Cardinals is righty Kyle Gibson, who is 0-2 with a 12.60 ERA in his two appearances. Pitching five innings, he's walked none and struck out five.

As today's a split-squad day, the Marlins also send a group to West Palm Beach to take on the Houston Astros at 6:05 PM ET with projected #2 starter A.J. Puk on the bump for the Fish.
