The Miami Marlins are back in the win column after besting the Atlanta Braves by a score of 5-1 on Saturday afternoon. The Marlins improve to 3-12 this season.

Here's everything you need to know from that game:

Max Meyer continues to look like the real deal

Meyer pitched six innings on Friday night for his second consecutive quality start. Meyer gave up two runs in his first appearance this season, but has only given up one in each of his last two games.

The Marlins have not had much good news when it comes to the pitching staff this season, but Meyer emerging as a legitimate pitching prospect is as good as they could hope for.

He missed all of 2023 after recovering from Tommy John surgery, so coming out and starting strong in 2024 is enough to happy about with him right now

Bullpen seals the deal

As much as the starting rotation needed to pick up their play, the bullpen needed just as much help.

Things went nearly as good as possible with the bullpen arms in this one, as three guys came in and each pitched a hitless inning.

With the bullpen coming in and finishing the job that Meyer had started, the Marlins were able to breathe and not sweat one out as much.

Josh Bell goes deep

The Marlins took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning thanks to a home run by Josh Bell, his second of the season.

The Marlins never gave up the lead, meaning they lead in all 9 frames of this one.

Bell scored another run later in the game as Bryan De La Cruz stretched the lead to five with a double in the fifth inning.

What’s next for the Miami Marlins?

Miami's back at it tomorrow for the series finale against the Braves, with veteran Charlie Morton taking on Jesús Luzardo. First pitch is scheduled for 1:40 PM.
