The Miami Marlins dropped a close one against the New York Yankees by a score of 3-2. The Marlins are now 1-11 on the season.

Here's what you need to know from the game:

Top of the order goes 0-13

When the defense and pitching staff give the team a break, the offense needs its start to step up.

Luis Arraez, Bryan De La Cruz, Jake Burger and Josh Bell didn't get the job done today as they had a combined hitless game.

Three of them did at least draw walks and get on base, but the team will need more from the group in the future. In a close game like this, a couple of hits could have gotten them a win.

Puk has misleading start, defense saves the day

Despite giving up just one run in his 4.2 innings pitched, the team still can't be too excited about the Puk as a starter experiment.

In his 98 pitches on the day, just 56 were called as strikes. He walked five batters and gave up just four hits while striking out just two batters.

It was still his best start of the season, but if it weren't for the defense stepping up it could have been another disaster start for Puk.

Two crucial plays were made that took away runs from the Yankees and kept the game close.

The Marlins NEED to find another option at catcher

The team has had a hole at catcher since J.T. Realmuto left, but things are getting bleaker than ever before.

Nick Fortes and Christian Bethancourt have been abysmal at the plate.

The duo has combined for 1-33 to start the season. The team needs to bring someone else in and have a crack at things.

What's next for the Miami Marlins?

Game three of the series is on Wednesday evening at 6:05 PM ET, with lefty Ryan Weathers facing off against Marcus Stroman. It's available on Bally Sports Florida and, surprisingly, on Amazon Prime Video.
