The Miami Marlins poor start can't be blamed on one exact position group, but some stars have not been performing to an expected level.

The Marlins pitching staff, has not been too great as a whole. With all of their injury issues, they need established players to perform.

That hasn't been the case so far for Jesus Luzardo. He is sporting a 7.65 earned run average through his first four starts. He has been pitching at a poor level, even when looking at advanced stats that take fielding out of the equation.

Bleacher Reports' Kerry Miller says that it might be smart to worry . In his recent article exploring the 'hot streaks and slumps' around the league, he listed Luzardo's cold streak as a 'sell.'

Luzardo has played at a high level during his first two full seasons in Miami. He has a total Miami ERA of 4.14. Luzardo is far behind where he has been so far as a Marlin.

History says that he should be expected to turn things around, this level of regression after one season at 27 years old would be truly shocking.

The bottom line for the Marlins is that it might not actually matter whether or not Luzardo picks things up. He has good current trade value and will likely be dealt before too long if they plan to blow up the roster.

Obviously, him stepping up his play will only help the Marlins whether it is in winning games or in building up trade value.
