One former member of the New York Mets reportedly has found a new home.

Former Mets utility man Jonathan Araúz has been a free agent this offseason but seems to be off the board. He spent the 2023 season in the Mets' organization but reportedly has signed a minor league deal with the Los Angeles Dodgers for the 2024 campaign, according to Metsmerized Online's Mike Mayer.

"2023 New York Met Jonathan Araúz has signed a minor league deal with the Dodgers," Mayer said.

Araúz joined the Mets ahead of the 2023 season and appeared in 27 games at the big league level and 100 games at the minor league level with the Triple-A Syracuse Mets. Araúz clubbed three home runs, drove in nine runs, and slashed .136/.203/.288. In the minors, Araúz hit 14 home runs, drove in 53 runs, and slashed .239/.340/.415.

It's unclear what his role will be with the Dodgers, but he can help out in multiple ways. He saw time at the big league level at second base, shortstop, and third base in 2023 with the Mets.

Araúz may not play a massive role with the loaded Dodgers next season, but it wouldn't be too surprising to see him get some time at the big league level at some point. It could never hurt to add veteran big league depth and Araúz certainly provides that. He made his big league debut in 2020 with the Boston Red Sox and has been bouncing around between the big leagues and minors ever since.
