Mets Not Ruling Out Another Move After Signing Adam Ottavino According To Insider
The New York Mets have made a handful of moves this offseason but it wouldn't be surprising to see at least one more.
New York has quietly improved the club without a massive expense. The Mets have invested in bounce-back candidates with high upside and seem to be in a much better spot than they were in.
The Mets continue to add to the roster on team-friendly contracts and recently re-signed reliever Adam Ottavino to help shore up the bullpen. While the club is in a better place, another move could be on the horizon according to SNY's Andy Martino.
"With Adam Ottavino signed, the Mets are still deciding whether to acquire another reliever," Martino said. "I’d expect them to continue to talk to the remaining free agents."
Luckily for the Mets, there still are some very solid options out there who could help their bullpen. The two most talked about hurlers recently have been former New York Yankees relievers, Wandy Peralta and Keynan Middleton.
If the Mets could land either of the duo, they would be a very solid pickup. Aside from those two, some other options available are Ryne Stanek, Shintaro Fujinami, Jake Junis, and Matt Barnes among others.
New York has done a good job this offseason improving the club. The Mets still could use at least one more reliever and it wouldn't be too surprising to see another move get done soon.
The Mets clearly have plenty of money to spend still but have taken a different approach this offseason.
