The New York Mets have worked hard to continue to build their farm system into one of the best in baseball. For now, the Mets are at least remaining consistent in the latest MLB Pipeline farm system rankings.

The Mets were ranked No. 13 in the 2024 preseason rankings, which is consistent with their 2023 midseason ranking and preseason rankings, which were both No. 11, and their 2022 midseason ranking, which was No. 14.

The Mets are definitely in better shape than the 2022 preseason, when the organization was ranked No. 20.

The Mets have made waves with their trades of late, as seven of their Top 13 prospects have been acquired in trades, and some of those players will be in line to help the Mets at the Major League level soon.

The Mets have four Top 100 prospects — shortstop Jett Williams, (No. 45) outfielder Drew Gilbert (No. 53) infielder Luisangel Acuña (No. 66) and outfielder Ryan Clifford (No. 97).

Gilbert, Acuña and Clifford were all acquired in trade-deadline deals last season. Williams is a homegrown prospect who has quickly risen through the ranks after being drafted out of high school.

MLB Pipeline also pointed toward the Mets’ growing pitching depth in the minor leagues. Christian Scott took a huge jump in the system’s Top 30 rankings from last year. Scott wasn’t even ranked in the Mets’ Top 30 last preseason.

The story’s analysts believe that Scott, Blade Tidwell and Mike Vasil could provide the Mets some depth at the Major League level starting this summer. All three are starting pitchers and the Mets may need help there due to injuries to starters like Kodai Senga.

Ronny Mauricio, who is set to miss most of the season after an injury during play in the Dominican Winter League, is still ranked No. 6, with shortstop Colin Houck, infielder Marco Vargas, catcher Kevin Parada and Tidwell rounding out the Top 10.

Vasil, shortstop Jeremy Rodriguez, pitcher Brandon Sproat, pitcher Dominic Hamel, corner infielder Jacob Reimer, outfielder Alex Ramirez, catcher Yovanny Rodriguez, pitcher Tyler Stuart, pitcher/DH Nolan McLean and catcher Ronald Hernandez occupied the Nos 11-20 spots.

The remainder of the Top 30 included infielder Jesus Baez, pitcher Calvin Ziegler, outfielder Wilfredo Lara, pitcher Nate Lavender, shortstop Boston Baro, outfielder Nick Morabito, pitcher Raimon Gomez, pitcher Joander Suarez, pitcher Saul Garcia and outfielder Rhylan Thomas.
