Three New York Mets prospects remain among the Top 100 prospects in baseball, according to a re-rank of the Top 100 by Baseball America.

The list is led by the Mets’ hot-shot catching prospect Francisco Alvarez.

He will likely graduate from the prospect rankings soon, given that he’s taken nearly 140 at-bats with the New York Mets since his debut late last year. But, at the moment he is the No. 7 prospect overall in the re-rank.

With the Mets he’s already batting .245 with 12 home runs and 24 RBI this season after joining the Mets organization as a free agent in 2018.

The other two prospects are also position players, starting with shortstop Ronny Mauricio, who is the No. 64 overall prospect. Once Alvarez graduates, he’ll likely become the Mets’ No. 1 overall prospect.

The 22-year-old out of the Dominican Republic is with the Mets’ Triple-A affiliate in Syracuse. He’s putting together his best offseason yet. Through Saturday’s action, he’s slashing .320/.360/.524/.884 with 23 doubles, eight home runs and 35 RBI in a breakthrough season. He joined the organization the same year as Alvarez.

The third prospect is another catcher, Kevin Parada, who checked in at No. 72. Parada was one of the most polished college catching prospects in recent memory when the Mets took him in the first round out of Georgia Tech last season. While his average has taken a bit of a dip in his first full professional season, he’s already eclipsed last year’s totals for home runs and RBI. He’s at Class High-A Brooklyn.

Baseball America based the re-rank on the first two months of action and reflects the performance of players around baseball, along with those prospects who may have graduated from prospect status based on service time.
