Mets' Pete Alonso Homers Twice After Shaving Mustache
The clean look is working.
Slumping Mets first baseman Pete Alonso shaved his mustache prior to Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers.
He then proceeded to homer twice and drive in four runs against Brewers starter Corbin Burnes.
Alonso's first homer was a two-run shot, which tied the game at 4-4. It was his second home run of the season.
“I guarantee you right now, that mustache is not coming back," said Keith Hernandez, who's famous for his mustache, on SNY's telecast.
Two innings later, Alonso went yard again, driving a low pitch over the wall in left center field to put the Mets ahead 6-4.
Alonso shaved his mustache and then hit two long balls.
It's safe to say that the mustache will be a thing of the past for Alonso.
