What a wild turn of events.

After winning his start on Wednesday, New York Mets pitcher Joey Lucchesi revealed that his uber got in a car accident leaving Citi Field on Tuesday night.

Lucchesi said he experienced some back soreness, but he went six-plus innings and allowed two runs in the Mets' 11-2 win over the Miami Marlins in Game 1 of Wednesday's doubleheader.

“The police were chasing this stranger, and then the guy collided into our car,” Lucchesi told reporters. “Totally messed up the Uber’s left side — I was on the right side luckily. It wasn’t too drastic of a crash.”

According to Lucchesi, the car was no longer driveable, but teammate Tylor Megill, who witnessed the crash, was able to take the fellow pitcher and his family back to their hotel.

Per Lucchesi, the police arrested the suspect.

The lefty finished his season with a 4-0 record and 2.89 ERA.
