Good news for the team's OPS leader.

The New York Mets provided a promising update on outfielder Tommy Pham, who is dealing with right groin tightness.

According to the Mets, Pham was reevaluated on Wednesday and is considered day-to-day.

Based off this latest update, Pham should be able to avoid a stint on the injured list.

Pham initially pulled his groin in the first inning of the final game of the first half of the regular season. He was forced to exit the game.

Pham underwent imaging that came back negative on Monday, ruling out any tear or strain of the groin.

After signing a one-year, $6 million deal in the offseason, Pham has looked like a steal of an acquisition.

In 69 games, Pham is slashing .277/.350/.485 with a .836 OPS, nine home runs and 34 RBI.

It has been clear that Pham has been one of the Mets' best hitters in the first half of the regular season.

In the wake of a positive injury update, the Mets will hope that Pham can get back in the lineup on Friday when they kick off the second half of the regular season, or if not, return shortly thereafter.

The Mets will begin a three-game series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citi Field over the weekend.
