The New York Mets might not be finished adding to their roster this offseason after all.

According to SNY insider Andy Martino, the Mets could still add another bat if it makes sense.

"If David Stearns went to Steve Cohen and said we can drastically improve our offense for X Amount of money, a couple million," Martino said. "Of course they would do it."

Martino had previously reported that the Mets had a loose cap of $10 million, which they were willing to go over, and have done so, spending $11 million since this information was revealed.

It is evident that the Mets' lineup needs another bat and designated hitters J.D. Martinez and Jorge Soler are still available. But they will be pricey, so the Mets could go in a different direction, as they are showing interest in third baseman Gio Urshela, who would provide insurance at the hot corner in case Brett Baty flops.

While Urshela swings a solid bat, the Mets need to provide protection in the middle of the lineup for Pete Alonso, who is in a walk-year. That's where a Martinez or Soler would come in.

At this point, it looks unlikely that the Mets add another bat, but Martino says Cohen would sign off on acquiring a big slugger if Stearns sells him on the opportunity to splurge.
