New York Mets starting pitcher Justin Verlander will be honored on Monday evening at Minute Maid Park.

In a pre-game ceremony before the Mets take on the Houston Astros, Verlander will be awarded his 2022 World Series ring.

Verlander played a massive role in helping the Astros to a World Series championship last season against the Philadelphia Phillies

It was the second time in the Astros franchise that they had won a championship.

In addition to his ring, Verlander will be honored with a tribute video as he helped bring both of the franchise's World Series titles to the city.

During the 2022 MLB season, Verlander held a 1.75 ERA over the course 175.0 regular season innings. His ERA led all of MLB and propelled him to the American League Cy Young award last season.

Since joining the Mets, Verlander has posted a 4.40 ERA over the course of eight starts. It's a far cry from his career numbers and even more so from his performance last season.

He is slated to take the mound Tuesday against his former team and will face Framber Valdez.
