Two New York Mets — first baseman Pete Alonso and shortstop Francisco Lindor — are in contention to start as the first round of All-Star Game voting was released on Monday.

The top two vote-getters at each position — and the top six vote-getters in the outfield — move on to the next round of voting. That next round determines who starts.

Alonso — who is on the injured list at the moment — was the Mets’ overall top vote-getter with 377,749. That put him second at first base behind the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Freddie Freeman, who is well out in front with 775,503 votes.

Lindor, meanwhile, is in a more competitive race with Atlanta’s Orlando Arcia. The Braves shortstop has 406,509 votes while Lindor has 302,051.

Voting to determine who advances ends on June 22.

Other Mets that are receiving votes include catcher Francisco Alvarez (fourth, 167,708), second baseman Jeff McNeil (fifth, 126,904), third baseman Brett Baty (sixth, 93,247), designated hitter Daniel Vogelbach (eighth, 63,804) and outfielder Brandon Nimmo (12th, 159,708).

The All-Star Game is set for July 11 in Seattle.

The MLB All-Star Ballot, which is available exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com/vote, all 30 Club web sites, the MLB App and the MLB Ballpark App, will be accessible until the voting period for Phase 1 concludes at 11 a.m. central on June 22nd.

During the initial voting period, fans can submit up to five ballots per 24-hour period.

On June 22nd, the top two vote-getters at each position (and the top six outfielders) in each League will be revealed on MLB Network at 5 p.m. central, and they will advance to the second phase of voting to determine who makes the All-Star teams and starts for each League.

The leading vote-getter in each league during the first phase of voting will receive an automatic starting assignment at the All-Star Game and bypass the second phase of voting.
