The New York Mets had a tough start to the season, but have since bounced back, winning a series against the Cincinnati Reds and having a chance to win another against the Atlanta Braves on Thursday afternoon.

It doesn't look like a World Series will be coming to Queens this season, however, the Mets can build an identity, and at the very least, find players who they believe can help them reach that goal of winning a championship in 2025.

The organization has prospects, including Ronny Mauricio, who injured his ACL in the offseason, and Mark Vientos, who the team has playing in Triple-A to start the season.

A proposed blockbuster trade idea from Bleacher Report would send Mauricio or Vientos to the Miami Marlins for left-handed pitcher, Jesus Luzardo.

Bleacher Report believes New York needs a quality arm and Luzardo would certainly help them with that.

If they were to move one of these prospects, that wouldn't be a bad idea.

Vientos, at this point, doesn't seem to be getting a chance to prove he can play at the big league level consistently. When the Mets signed JD Martinez, that was as good of an indication as there is of the future of Vientos.

While Luzardo is coming off the best season of his career, tossing 178 2/3 innings with a 3.58 ERA, it was only the second year in his career where he threw over 100 innings.

New York, however, could value Luzardo and want to make a deal for him sooner rather than later to get him familiar with the fan base and organization.
