The Baltimore Orioles' interest in Dylan Cease continues as the team looks to land an ace to pair with their incredible young roster. After winning 101 games and getting swept in the ALDS, the Orioles' front office understands that they're missing a top-of-the-line starting pitcher.

While Grayson Rodriguez and Kyle Bradish can certainly turn into their aces in the near future, adding an arm that's already regarded as one will be a huge help for Baltimore.

For them, there's no better option than Cease.

According to NJ.com, the "rumor mill" has the Orioles as the current favorite to land the right-handed starter. They note that the package won't include MLB's top prospect, Jackson Holliday.

Including Holliday in any package wouldn't make sense for the team. He's a generational type of prospect and unless they were receiving a player like Shohei Ohtani, moving him wouldn't ever cross their minds.

Baltimore does have the prospects to make this deal work, so that shouldn't concern the Chicago White Sox much. If any team is going to make a deal, they're likely going to have the best offer.

Names that have been floated to possibly be included are Colton Cowser, Heston Kjerstad, Coby Mayo, and others. Those three are the No. 2, 3, and 4 ranked prospects in the Orioles' loaded system.

It's unlikely that all three would move in the same deal, but we've seen trades in the past that feature huge returns.

Baltimore's almost in a position where they have too many top-end prospects. At some point, they're going to need to move on from a few of them for big-league talent.

Mike Elias is not known to make poor trades and many of these prospects could be considered "untouchable" to him.

But, it seems like the Orioles continue to get closer to adding the ace they want this offseason.
