Baltimore Orioles Finally Reveal Spring Training Start Date
It's been a long offseason for Baltimore Orioles fans. They're eager to see what their team can do in 2024 after winning 101 games and the AL East in 2023.
More than three months after the Orioles played their last game, there's finally a light at the end of the tunnel. Spring Training is rapidly approaching, signaling the dawn of a new season and the championship aspirations that come with it.
Fortunately, Spring Training is less than a month away for Baltimore, which recently revealed its preseason start date.
On Wednesday, the Orioles officially announced that pitchers and catchers will report to Spring Training on Wednesday, February 14th, making Valentine's Day extra sweet this year.
Baltimore will have 10 days to prepare for its first preseason game, which is scheduled for February 24th against the Boston Red Sox.
Orioles fans are looking forward to seeing a mix of new and returning faces. They'll get an early look at star catcher Adley Rutschman, who was an All-Star and Silver Slugger winner last year while anchoring Baltimore's lineup.
They'll also get to see new closer Craig Kimbrel, who was brought in this offseason to replace the injured Felix Bautista. The veteran flamethrower has been one of the best closers in baseball for more than a decade and is looking to add a 10th All-Star appearance to his resume.
Spring Training kicks off three days after the Super Bowl, which could feature the Baltimore Ravens. If the Ravens stay hot, mid-February is shaping up to be a pretty fun time for Baltimore sports fans.
