Orioles 2023 Rookie of the Year Makes MLB Network's Top 100 List
The Baltimore Orioles had plenty to celebrate during the 2023 season. The team won 101 games, lifted the American League East division tittle, manager Brandon Hyde took home American League Manager of the Year honors, and Gunnar Henderson was named the Rookie of the Year award.
Now, Henderson's name can be added to another list after having a fantastic 2023 season.
MLB Network has ranked the young star as their 34th-best player in their list of Top 100 players heading into the 2024 season.
Last year, Henderson got off to a slow start, but after making some adjustments, his numbers started to take off. When all was said and done, he ended up slashing .255/.325/.489 with 28 home runs, 82 runs batted in, 29 doubles and 9 triples.
He was only 22 years old when he did that in his rookie season. Expect him to keep getting better heading into this year.
This Orioles' ballclub has a lot to look forward to heading into Spring Training.
Another year of Adley Rutschman, Grayson Rodriguez, Jordan Westburg, and the potential promotion of top prospect Jackson Holliday to start the season on the opening-day roster.
Baltimore fans have a lot to look forward to in the next couple of years, and it's going to be fun to watch how great Henderson continues to develop as a superstar in this league.
The way the team was constructed by general manager Mike Elias has been incredible to see, and they're entering a time when they are going to be competing for World Series title after World Series title.
