Time For Baltimore Orioles to Stop Living in the Past

The Baltimore Orioles had a great year in 2023, but it's time to move on.

Earlier this week, the entire world changed its calendars from 2023 to 2024 in celebration of the new year.

Except for the Baltimore Orioles, however, who apparently still aren't ready to move on from last season.

On Wednesday, the Orioles announced on their team's social media account that they have a new documentary coming out. The film, which will be released on Jan. 10 via orioles.com and YouTube, is called "101" and is about the team's 2023 campaign.

The title is a reference to the number of games Baltimore won last year. Unfortunately, none of those were in the postseason.

As Orioles fans might recall, their team didn't win a single playoff game. They were swept out of the ALDS by the eventual World Series-champion Texas Rangers, becoming a minor footnote in baseball history.

It was a disappointing end to an otherwise successful season that saw Baltimore win its most games since 1979 and finish with the best record in the American League.

The Orioles haven't had much to celebrate lately, but is their 2023 really deserving of a movie?

The Atlanta Braves and Los Angeles Dodgers also won 100-plus games last year, and neither of them are patting themselves on the back.

Winning 101 games is a remarkable achievement, but it's not uncommon and isn't even the most in franchise history.

Last season was great, but Baltimore needs to turn the page.

It's time to leave 2023 in the past and focus on winning a championship in 2024. If the Orioles do that, then they can make as many movies as they want.
