All things considered, the Baltimore Orioles' front office doesn't have to be massively busy during this offseason.

They've done a fantastic job of pairing their young stars with veteran players who have become leaders in the clubhouse.

After being eliminated in the ALDS round via a sweep, that could make ownership a little antsy to go out and add more pieces to the roster.

One player they added in 2023 was veteran outfielder Aaron Hicks, who was brought in on a bargain deal.

Hicks, a longtime member of the New York Yankees, was released on May 26, five seasons into his seven-year, $70 million contract.

The Orioles were able to sign him to a one-year deal after their starting center fielder Cedric Mullens went down with an injury.

Hicks had a career resurrection in Baltimore, finishing with a slash line of .275/.381/.425, seven home runs and 31 RBI in 65 games.

He proved to be a vital piece for the Orioles as they won their first AL East title since 2014 and made the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

But, will they bring back Hicks for the 2024 campaign?

There has been no indication yet to suggest that they will or they won't.

With Mullens back healthy, there wouldn't necessarily be a need to have Hicks back on the roster.

His injury history presents a problem of its own. That's one of the main reasons why the Yankees moved away from the veteran, despite have years and money still remaining on his contract.

If Hicks is willing to comeback on a cheap deal, the Orioles should explore that option.

He provides depth in case of injury and wouldn't hurt their ability to acquire star players if that's the route the front office wants to take.
